can't install horton works on 2012 r2

I’m trying to install horton works by following this guide http://hortonworks.com/blog/install-hadoop-windows-hortonworks-data-platform-2-0/ on server 2012 r2 but after the “HDP Setup” screen, I see the initial installer window but then after the green bar goes all the way through, it says “installation failed, please see log for details C:\….” but there are no log files created or a log folder…using Python 2.7.8 too.
